Invitation to Participate in Research

Has your child been diagnosed with Osgood-Schlatter’s Disease? Are they still having pain and limited activity?

If you answered yes to both these questions, then your child is invited to participate in research investigating the emotional and psychological effects of having Osgood-Schlatter’s disease during its active phase.

Their involvement will be to respond to a brief questionnaire. It will involve asking questions about how they are being affected by their injury and their feelings.  It should take no more than 10 minutes to answer the questionnaire.

If you are interested in possibly participating, email us and an Information sheet and Consent form will be sent initially to you in advance which you can read in your own time, and contact us if you have any questions. It explains in more detail about the research and your rights to confidentiality and privacy.

If you agree to take part, just email us and we will then send you the questionnaire to fill out and return by email, along with your signed consent form. Your confidentiality will be maintained at all times.

If you and your child agree to participate, please send an email to either

Matthew Humphrey hm963@gre.ac.uk or Jenny Strickland sj58@gre.ac.uk (Supervisor)

Please note that participation in this study is completely voluntary and you have the right to withdraw at any time without having to give any reason, and with no adverse consequences.

Thank you for considering helping us to understand more about the impact of having Osgood-Schlatter’s Disease.

This research forms part of the requirements for the BSc (Hons) in Sports Science for Matthew, and MPhil/PhD for Jenny.
